Tour to Aragatsotn Province

Extraordinary tour to Aragatsotn’s mountain range saturated with history, through the gorges along the serpentine roads. Pacifying landscape of the west of the modern Republic of Armenia is awaiting you.
The tour consists of two separate routes. At their request, the clients can have either a two-day tour or one of the route of your choice.
Route 1
The trip goes along the Yerevan-Gyumri Route. The first stopover of the trip is Aruch village. St. Gregory Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Armenia, built in 666, situated here. In the VII c., it is used to be the residency of Grigor Mamikonyan, the ruler of Armenia and included a few large monumental buildings apart from the fortress.
The next stopover is the Cathedral at Talin, erected in the VII c. The cathedral is considered an innovative construction of its time. The last stopover of tour is Dashtadem, a fortress of VII-XIX cc., which has soaked the cultures of different times, peoples and rulers. It has witnessed numerous battles and many times has changed hands.
Route 2
The trip goes along the Yerevan-Vanadzor Route. The first stopover of the trip is St. Varvara, a rock-cut monastery in the Mount Ara. This sanctuary is famous for the legends connected with the curative properties of the water streaming through the stones.
The next stopover is the monastery complex Astvatsenkal, a unique example of the Armenian medieval architecture, situated in a picturesque gorge, on the left bank the Kasakh River.
The route to the final point in the trip – the Aragats Lake – lies through Amberd, an architectural monument very popular with tourists and local people. It is located 3.207 m above the sea level, on a plateau below the peaks.
