Day 1
Yerevan City Tour – Ararat Brandy, Degustation – History Museum of Armenia
Yerevan 2800 years old city. Bright, sunny city with its buildings, churches, bridges, canyons represents you all its history and beauty in everything what you can see around. Big collections of exhibits and archaeological findings in museums will tell you the history of the country from the very beginnings. For the lovers of drinks you will have opportunity to make the degustation of one of the best Armenian drinks – Cognac.
Day 2
Abovyan Church, Tsaghkadzor – Kecharis Monastery, Hrazdan –short visit, Lake Sevan, Sevanavank, Noradouz
Your way to Artsakh – one of the 15 provinces of Greater Armenia will pass through Kotayk and Gegharkunik Provinces by visiting bright, beautiful church in Abovyan, Kecharis Monastery in Tsaghkadzor, Lake Sevan, Sevanavank Monastery and Noradouz Cemetery which has the biggest amount of tombstones and cross-stones.
Day 3
Hot Springs, Dadivank Monastery, Gandzasar Monastery
Northern route is full of mountainous treasures with rich history, colorful landscapes. Gandzasar monastery is full of miracles and situated closer to the sky, residence of catholicoses and Khachen princedoms. Dadivank is the hidden monastery behind hills and mountains with beautiful frescoes on its walls. One more attraction which can make your wishes come true. After visiting monasteries and making wishes you will visit healing bathes in Zouar village. Hot springs will help you to relax after long trips.
Day 4
Stepanakert, Shoushi, Hunot Canyon
Stepanakert City Tour, Visiting Museums. Stepanakert – the capital of self-recognized Artsakh Republic. On the site of the present day capital was the settlement Vararakan which is translated like “rapid spring”. You will have opportunity to make acquaintance with history of this area, visit museums, taste local dishes, see the old and new parts of the city and may be took part in different events.
Shoushi City Tour, Hunot Canyon
Shoushi is the cultural capital of Artsakh, which have great history. The city has dark and bright pages. It has very interesting architectural style. Every building and construction has its own history. In Shoushi you can visit different types of museums, churches, Persian mosque. Shoushi is situated on the high point from which is opening perfect view on the capital city and the picturesque view of Hounot Canyon. In the canyon you will visit ruins of ancient village and arched bridge of 18 c. across the river. There will be possible to make short trekking and have picnic near “Umbrella” waterfall.
Day 5
Askeran, Tigranakert, Vankasar
On you way to Askeran you will pass by monument “We are Our Mountains” (“Tatik & Papik”), Stepanakert Airport, then you will have opportunity to visit new restorated fortress of 18th century and spent time in Tigranakert reserve, to get information about its history which by its roots goes deep in the pre-Christian period, see the excavation areas, visit castle of 18th century which is working in our days as a museum where preserved all findings of excavation and visit Vankasar Chantry on the top of the hill, from that point you will enjoy all the picturesque views of the surroundings.
Day 6
Platan Tree, Amaras, Azokh Cave, Togh Melik’s Palace, Gtchavank Monastery
The above mentioned sights are located in the south of Artsakh. Each of them has its unique history. Platan tree which makes your dreams come true, Amaras Monastery – first school of Artsakh Province in Greater Armenia, Azokh cave where during archaeological works were found hunting tools, Neanderthal’s jaw, etc., Melik’s Palace related to the important period in the history of Artsakh and where also will be possible to taste wine “Kataro” and visit Gtchavank – one of the most important monasteries on the south tourist route in Artsakh.
Day 7
Devil’s Bridge, Khndzoresk, Tatev
In Devil’s bridge adventurous trail will wait for you. You will go down the tightrope to the bank of the river and continue your trail. After couple minutes you will appear in a white rock with warm bathes. So, may be you will need swim-suite. Then after taking bath and having snacks you will head to Khndzoresk. Tere new adventure will be on the watch for you. You will need to pass the long hanging bridge to visit old settlement with its constructions, caves and churches. Then on the route you will feel all the beauty of that part of Armenia with its rocks on the both sides of the road, monasteries located on the slopes of the rocks and to have short trip on cable-cars from where will be possible to contemplate the surroundings from the bird-eye view.
Day 8
Noravank Monastery, Areni, Khor Virap
In Areni you will have opportunity to make degustation of one of the best wines in Armenia. Ararat province will tell you the history of Christianity adoption in Armenia and you will appear on the closest border between Armenia and Turkey at the foothill of Ararat Mountain.
