Amusing tour to Vayots Dzor, where you can acquaint yourself with the unique cultural and natural landscape of the southern region of the modern Republic of Armenia.

The tour consists of two separate routes. At their request, the clients can have either a two-day tour or one of the route of your choice.

Route 1

The trip goes along the Yerevan - Meghri Route. The first stopover of the trip is the Shativank Monastery Complex, which is one of the most significant historical and cultural monuments of southern Armenia. The complex is situated high in the mountains. On the way to the next stopover  - an abandoned medieval settlement of Khostun - we have a lunch at Shatin village. We also visit the Selim caravanserai (XIII c.) and enjoy the memorable view of the mountain passes to the Lake Armaghan with a nice view of the Lake Sevan and the ridges of the Geghama Mountains. The last, but not least point of our tour is the Hayravank medieval monastery complex, situated at the peak of the rock on the picturesque shore of the Lake Sevan.

Route 2

The trip goes along the Yerevan - Meghri Route. The tour starts with a steep climb through the colorful mountains of Vayots Dzor to the Tsakhats Kar monastery complex (IX-XI cc.). Then we drive to Smbataberd Fortress (V-XIV cc.) through the mountain peaks. The next stopover is an ancient settlement Yeghegis, where numerous constructions dated to the Early and High Middle Ages. Here we have a meal. The final stopover is Arates, an abandoned village. At a little waterfall on the way to Arates we have a coffee-break and acquaint ourselves with the local natural peculiarities.
